DAVID GALLEGOS

       David was born in 1970, and grew up in a musically inclined family; participating in junior and senior high school bands, he won many musicianship awards and medals, including the Best Guitarist category in a jazz contest. He was 14 years old when he taught himself to play guitar, applying the theory that he had learned in school, and gleaning information from magazines and books. Never having taken a lesson, he himself began to teach after a few years. David draws much of his influences from such guitarists as John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Al Di Meola, Alex Lifeson, Paul Gilbert, and Eric Johnson. The bands that have influenced him include Dream Theater, Rush, Queensr˙che,Fates Warning, Metallica, Shadow Gallery, Lemur Voice, and Iron Maiden. David feels that his involvement with Power of Omens is his best musical effort to date. He participated in the actual engineering of their 5 song demo, and looks forward to doing so for future recordings as well. When not working on his music, David enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as his two cats. He loves collecting Marvel action figures (Spiderman in particular), and enjoys using his computer to work on arts and graphics.

 

 

EQUIPMENT:
David uses a Custom Fender Stratocaster, and a Washburn MG-30, both guitars custom fit with Di Marzio "Steve Special" pickups in the bridge position. He also uses a Mesa Boogie Tri-Axis pre-amp, a Peavy power amp, a Digitech DHP-33 Harmonizer, ART Multiverb effects and delays, and a Mesa Boogie 4x12 Cabinet (Half-Back).
